Careful with the middle class, that's all we have. (for progress)



They say middle class is shrinking or even disappearing and some are happy. Are they stupid or are they stupid. Although it's very difficult to be true, it's fun to answer. 

 The poor man's children unfortunately don't have the opportunities to develop, they mostly stay away from education, the sciences, the arts, occupied by the thoughts of survival, they must earn their living from their very early years.  

 The rich man's children don't pursue the educational development because of their interests. Primarily they prepare themselves to manage their inheritance. At the most they study management or liberal arts, they stay away from hard core, demanding majors like engineering, medicine and the sciences.
The middle class provides the necessary and the safe and secure environment for the children to continue their development in education, the sciences, the arts all these that are necessary for progress and contribute to what is called civilization.  That's all humanity has to be proud of, civilization. 
How much humanity lost during the almost 1000 years of the middle ages, when almost nothing was created in these areas. 

Money and gold alone can't do anything, skilled people are needed, long trained skilled people. Nothing can be done now without skilled people as centuries ago in agricultural societies, when workers didn't need schooling, but only legs and hands and the arts were going forward by luck, waiting the few geniuses to be born. Back then there was an upper noble (aristocratic) class with its slavishes and serviles and the rest, poor and uneducated.


Middle class provides the social nutrients to societies.

The mechanical equivalent of the internet in transportation.

The internet as the means to exchange information has changed people's lifes and the world. It's the ultimate way to transfer non-material content. Still though people and goods are moving around on ground, almost the same way they had been for a century or more. The used means have been improved and keep improving but nothing new in the concepts used. Mainly, everybody is stuck using automobiles of all kinds. People who dare to envision, think that it's about time for the great and magnificent of science and technology to start thinking of new ways that people and goods, material content, will be moving around, ways conceptually competent with the internet. We are talking door to door with minimal effort. A network  of cables (?) supported on ground extending everywhere, through every street. How much personal wealth is too much. Can "biological" and psycological considerations set limits to social and economic practicess.

Assume you own big chunks of land. Progressively you add more and more and you own so much that you can hardly see the other end, on flat land, when standing at the one side. You are pleased and happy and most probably proud, positive feelings that they say it's good for you, they contribute to your wellbeing. As business is very good....you keep buying more land and you can't see it all (seeing is very important for perception) anymore. To make a long story short, you have under your possession the land of the whole state and then all northwest of the country or the continent or the world.
