"Politicalities"
I read somewhere: :The fundamental differences between left-wing and right-wing ideologies center around the the rights of individuals vs. the power of the government. Left-wing beliefs are liberal in that they believe society is best served ......... People on the right believe that the best outcome for society is achieved when individual rights and civil liberties...........the government is minimized."
Everything above is excuses, both leftists and rightists have their one own different thing, each side, in their minds. Everything else is, in my humble opinion, camouflage. (is the use of any combination of materials, coloration, or illumination for concealment, either by making animals or objects hard to see)
Grossly speaking people can be devided in to three categories judging on their socio-economic ideas which become potential practices in the political arena.
There are some who wish,want actually, to keep large numbers of people in low economic status, (democratically off course in our modern times, please, what do you think, so many big revolutions have happened in the last couple of centuries) and they create political parties and try to win elections and when they do, through a series of laws and regulations they achieve their goal, low income jobs for people , absent of other supports etc, to leads to low social status too for them and most probably their children too. This is a modern, civilized, political, incarnation, of the way the world was mainly governed until a few centuries ago by kings and generals, when they were occupying with their armies as much land as they could control and guard, having a few in aristocracy and leaving the great majority in low class.
Then there are others who doesn't want to let individuals to lift themselves to high economic status through economic activities. (or by any other means) They too, please, democratically off course, win elections and by the channels of the appropriate laws and regulations confine individuals's economic growth to certain levels. Mentally is the continuation of the people who served, until a couple of centuries ago as servants and peasants the land owners and the likes, the powerful who hold them low by way of force.
The third group of people don't like both of these two "ideologies" which become and political practices off course, but don't know how to define their difficult position because it's much more complicated than the simplistic stances of the other two and which we can now say it's right and left, left and right, conservative and labor etc, etc, names and more names. But this third group of people decide for the governments, some times choosing the ones and some times the others. I think are called centrists, and that's why left and right suck them, excuse my language by characterizing their positions as center-right and center-left. These are comprising the newly formed, actually about one century old middle class, we must assume. They most probably think: yes,we don't like governments to cut the ropes to those who try to climb high but also we don't want to let those who climb high to then impose hurdles to us to go higher in economic status and subsequently to social.
Although it's not right to see everything through economic glasses, it's right to examine political positions, firstly, through their economic consequences, anything else follows and can mostly be explained by them.
